Community Service
I have many things I may be able to offer you or your community. I have had fun discovering all of the ways I can use my gift of doing hair for good. Read on and see if there is anything I may be able to do for you or someone you know.

This was one of my first experiences raising money for a mission trip. It turned into a fun time seeing how much we could raise to shave the pastors hair into a mohawk. We raised somewhere around $4000 between me cutting hair for donations, and the price we set to cut his hair. If there is a teacher, pastor, political leader, or anyone you know that is willing to sacrifice thier hair to raise money for something, let me know. I would be happy to help. Along with cutting hair for 100% donation for your organization. Call me with your ideas and I would be happy to help you plan it.

Then I had these two who were motivated to do this to there hair to get their high school group to bring a friend to their BBQ. You can bet this gets teenagers highly motivated to do something. Make sure whatever it is, is worth it to you! FYI- I was able to return the girls hair to normal for a wedding 2 weeks later. Though a very stinky process!
This was my greatest accomplishment so far. I came up with the idea to travel to Juarez, Mexico to a very poor community to teach women how to cut hair. It was a 2 week course I put together. I raised all the funds, got everything I needed to teach at least 8 women, packed up my son, and set out. I was lucky enough to have a place to stay and a medical clinic to teach in. The word was out that I was coming so I had more anticipation then I thought I would have. I set up, and the next morning before I had my breakfast I was told they were lining up outside. I ended up with more than I could teach. These ladies don't usually attend school after 12, and go on to become wives and full time mothers. From what I could see, there is a hunger for them to know more and do more. I was impressed to see the desire in these women to learn. I had some walk miles to learn, and not take a lunch, as it was to far to walk back home. It was hard to be able to attend everyday for some, but I had 7 complete my entire course. I was able to give them a certificate, a pair of scissors, a box of combs, and a water bottle to begin. I later chose 3 ladies that really gave it all, and strived to learn it all, to get an entire salon kit. I got to go to their homes later before I left and suprise them. It was a wonderful experience I will never forget. I later found out two of the ladies opened a salon in their home and hung a sign on their fence. Then I heard the last one accually got a job in a salon. I'm so proud to have been able to change their lives forever. This was a community where the average daily wage is $5.00. And most of the men walk miles to and from work. So something like this was very life changing for them. If you have an interest in helping like this I can help get you connected. Just let me know.
So to sum this up I want to add that if you know someone, or you are someone struggling financially, or you have lost your job, I'm happy to help with your haircare. Please fill free to contact me and ask for help. I wanted to post the other things I have done to let you know it is in my heart to help others, and to not be to proud to ask for help.
